Rain halts races at Davenport

DAVENPORT, Ia. (June 19, 2020) – About 8:30pm Friday, the rains came and put an abrupt end to the racing program at Davenport Speedway. With all the qualifying heat races completed, the show is deemed a completed program with the feature races to be run at a later date.

The Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modifieds were on track for their semi-features when the deluge hit. Once the make-up features are scheduled, they will be announced on the K Promotions – Davenport Speedway facebook page and the website “davenportiaspeedway.com

K Promotions would like to thank all the racers, crew, and fans who came out to support local racing. A special thank you goes out to the vintage racing coupes of the Midwest Jalopies who were also in action at Davenport, Friday.

Next week will be a busy one at Davenport Speedway, with two big nights of racing. Thursday, June 25th, the MARS racing series will kick off its 2020 season with a $ 5,000-to-win show that will also include weekly IMCA Late Models. On Friday, June 25th, it is time for open wheel excitement as the Sprint Invaders return to Davenport. Weekly classes competing on Friday will be IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, Street Stocks, and Sport Compacts.
